Reflux, dairy, pain, horrible feeds

My breadtfed baby (9w) is on 10mg omeprazole per day for reflux (mainly 'silent' - ie not the very pukey variety). I was dairy free from 2w to a few days ago and, on the advice of the GP, reintroduced dairy 3 or so days ago. No problem at first but, for the last 12 hours or so, the old symptoms have returned - fighting/pain at breast, painful wind, pain during feeding, and therefore very short, prematurely-ending feeds. His last two poos have also been green. Before, they were mustard yellow.

I now plan to exclude dairy again but am aware it can take weeks to leave our systems. I ate quite a lot of dairy! This terrifies and saddens me. I hate that I'll have to keep giving him dairy-touched milk via the breast, in the knowledge it will hurt him.

Is there anything I can do? He doesn't take a bottle. How quickly might he get back to normal?

Thank you.

He might be intolerant to dairy for life but theres alternative dairy products out there. Its going to be ok. Flowers

Thank you. Feel like I've ruined feeding as it's awful now - stops after about 30 secs as he's in pain.

What terrible advice from your GP. Please don't panic though. It can take two weeks to clear from your system completely but they will gradually improve. The intense pain stops with me after about 48 hours.

There's an allergy section on MN which might help and has your LO been referred to a Paediatric Dietician?
