Breastfed baby weight gain

Hello, I have a question regarding weight gain. My dd has just turned 5 months old, ebf. She has been feeding regularly, reaching all her milestones, alert, calm and happy. But she has been putting weight on slowly and has now dropped from the 9th percentile to between the 2nd and 9th. She has gone from 11lb 14oz to 12lb 5oz in six weeks. Is that normal for a ebf baby? She was 6lb 8oz at birth.
I know the weight charts aren’t changed for a ebf or ff baby so have been taking it with a ‘pinch of salt’ but wanted to check with other mums rather than a HV if it’s a normal gain.

Charts are based on breastfed babies and have been for a while.

That's interesting to know- thank you!

I don't think that drop is at all significant though - HV told me its normal to fluctuate slightly and the baby would have to drop at least two lines on the chart (ie from 9th to 0.4th) before you'd be referred anywhere.

Whilst I agree that going down one centiles curve isn't a concern, at all, it might be worth seeing if she will take an extra feed in the day? Kellymom has some tips on increasing weight gain here, which you may find helpful Smile
