What pain in between feeds is normal?

I get a stinging feeling which I'm assuming is my breasts filling with milk as it happens close (ish) to feeding times and I also get some random deep pains and occasional stinging nipples too. I've had thrush before and it's not like that (though part of the reason I'm asking is that I'm terrified of developing an infection again). Given all that goes on it makes sense that some breast pain is normal but just trying to figure out what exactly! How do you know what is normal and what isn't? Really interested in hearing other people's experiences.

Sorry night I really can't remember. Is there a BFing Group that you can get to or if you give one of the Helplines a call in the morning, they should be able to help Smile

I had the same for the first 6-9 weeks! Stabbing pains, even reaching around back of ribs and armpits :( soon passed now and I'm 7 months breastfeeding

Yes I had this too - tingling and aching when it had been a bit too long since the last feed.

Oh grand, thank you! It makes sense that there would be some pain like this but you never really hear about 'normal' pain. Glad to here it peters out as it gets established!
