Ds will only have 3 oz and I’m trying to make him have more so he sleeps a bit longer was curious to know how much other babies have

4 or 5oz but it doesn't make any difference to sleep.

At 1 they only need 10 floz over the whole day. Is LO eating plenty of solids? (Not that this always helped) Smile

He eats ok, not a massive appetite but reasonably well. I’m trying to get more milk in so can cut back on breastfeeds but it takes a while even for 3oz

If you are BFing, you're unlikely to get much more than 3 floz into him just yet.

BF babies take roughly 1 floz every hour, so if they feed every 3 hours, 3 floz is a reasonable amount Smile

Are you trying to cut back on all BFs or just feeds in the night?

FrangipaneFlower · 24/02/2019 15:47

At the moment just the 1 feed a day then in a couple of months I might try and replace the feed he has before his morning nap.
He feeds lots overnight which I don’t actually mind as we go sleep but in the day I need things to be a bit more flexible and for dh to be able to have him a little more. It’s just really for things to be a little bit easier for me and he will still get the benefit of breastmilk by 18 months I’d really like it to be nighttime and early morning only

Ok, if you don't mind feeding overnight, have you thought of just feeding before nap and before bed and offering other drinks at other times?

Some take to it better than others and you may have to distract him with something like diluted juice.

If you did want to stop or cut down I the night feeds, it's perfectly ok to night wean once they've reached 12 months Smile
