Possible CMPA - what are your experiences?

Brief history. My son is 14 week old and is formula fed. He’s never been particularly settled after feeds. We’ve been through possible colic - infacol, Aptamil colic milk and MAM bottles. We were then told he had mainly silent reflux. We were prescribed gaviscon which didn’t work, went on Cow and Gate anti reflux milk and eventually introduced ranitidine. We are on the maximum dose of ranitidine and have been for nearly 2 weeks. After a visit to the hospital as he was not getting better after feeds, we were told to think about CMPA.

His symptoms are as follows: extremely uncomfortable after feeds, hysterical crying, legs and arms thrashing, sick at times and generally very unhappy. By the time he cheers up he wants his next feed and the circle starts again.

What are people’s experiences of this? I am worried about going down an ‘intolerance’ route if this isn’t the problem.

Would love to hear your experiences.

I am worried about going down an ‘intolerance’ route if this isn’t the problem.. Is it a Paeditrician who’s suggested CMPA? What’s concerning you about “going down the intolerance route” in particular?

If you are worried, I’d chat to Allergy UK. My GP seems to respect the information they provide Smile
