Advice - how do I mix feed as going back to work

Unfortunately I have to go back to work next week and although I want to exclusively breastfeed, I am not that efficient at the pump!

Can anyone advise whther I will be able to BF morning and evening and give formula for the grandparents to give my DS during the day - if so is there a recommended brand??

Starting to really worry so any tips would be great

Hi Cari, how old is your ds?

It will be fine for you to feed ds when you are at home and give formula during the day if that is what you need to do. I understand that pumping can be tough. Most formulas are pretty similar, so wouldn't worry which brand.

Quite often, when mums go back to work, babies will start waking more at night to breastfeed and be with mum, but it can be a nice time to make up the missed feeds from the day, if you can handle the broken sleep.

Hello - my dd is at nursery three days a week - and i also couldn't express v much at all. What I do is bf her first thing - then take a bottle of formula in for them to give her in the morning. I then pop into the nursery in the afternoon for another bf (nursery v. near work). It works really well - and my milk supply is fine. Thinking of dropping the afternoon bf soon and taking two bottles in. Its a good excuse to see her though! I use SMA gold - not sure there is much difference between the main brands though. Don't worry - I was v. stressed about it - but babies are v. adaptable - she is doing really well. Just make sure she is used to drinking from a bottle before you go back. Goo

sorry, should have added (and it probably depends how old your baby is and how often he's feeding) that you might need to express at work to keep your boobs comfortable and prevent agains blocked ducts, mastitis etc, if they start to become full.
