Baby taking different amounts at each feeding

Sometimes it's 5oz, 3oz and 2oz. Is this pretty normal for a 5 week old? I keep having to throw formula away...

Pretty normal, yeah. Their needs vary. Baby being in control of how much they take is more important than them taking the "right" amount as long as they are peeing, pooing and gaining weight appropriately.

Our little lady does this. Generally takes between 3 and 4oz but sometimes less. If it's between her usual 4 hourly feeds that she starts fussing, we just make up a smaller bottle to reduce waste.

Have you noticed any pattern?
