My sons 3 weeks old I've been EBF since he was born but last week weaning him onto formula for personal reasons..

When he has his bottles he is literally draining 4oz bottles so fast and then still hungry after, so we put him up to 5 and he drains them too and still hungry.
Is this normal?! They're only supposed to have 3-4oz at this age aren't they?

I'm scared I'm going to make him poorly over feeding him but when he's eventually on all formula and no breast milk to top him up I don't know what I'm going to do Shock HELP ME AND MY GREEDY BABY LOL

The guidelines are just that. Some babies will drink more, some less. If he’s hungry give more but do stop to burp so that he isn’t just guzzling.

The standard advice is to make up a bottle with 1oz more than they normally take, so it's there when they need it. It's important not to push them to take more than they want. Some feeds may be very small. Babies that are going to be big will take a lot more than ones who are going to be little. Newborn babies that take big feeds tend to be more colicky, but there is not a lot you can do, other than careful winding and baby massage.
