Baby Choking When BF

Hi,
Anyone have experience of their baby choking while BF? Initially I thought it was due to LO reflux, but he still does it.
I’ve read it can be due to a forceful letdown or poor positioning.
LO literally struggles to breathe, then when milk is finally dislodged he goes all floppy and lethargic.
I can’t cope, it’s literally making me want to stop BF as it’s so scary😭
I’ve read to express a bit off before a feed yet even at almost 8wks LO doesn’t have a pattern, can feed every 30mins then go and hour, Feb. 20mins etc.
I’m so worried when it happens😭
Thanks x

Do you have a drop-in infant feeding support group near where you live?

Kelly Mom is an excellent breastfeeding resource.
Here’s the info on rapid let down.

Kellymom is an excellent website.
Also worth looking at www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/breastfeeding-support/
Which includes the National Breastfeeding Helpline and plenty of links to other support.
You could also contact your HV and ask if there is a lactation consultant on their infant feeding team that you can see.
