Weaning onto formula - feeding to sleep

My 8 month old has just started accepting formula at last and I’m starting to swap breastfeeding for formula if he will let me!

He’s only ever fed to sleep.

Does anyone have experience of how this might go for me? Am I going to end up keeping a nap time feed and a bedtime feed?

You can bottle feed to sleep just as you can bf to sleep. It may just take some getting used to. Alternatively, you may find it’s easier to figure out another way to get him to sleep. Feed him and then rock to sleep or whatever else works.

I’m hoping he’s going to learn to comfort off a bottle... he’s just so used to the boob I can’t imagine it at the moment.

And rocking to sleep takes so long and is so back breaking!
