Our LO slept through from about 7 weeks, just woke up for his dummy from then on.

I know someone whose baby slept through from birth.

We were too tired to wake him up and he's perfectly fine

Wake him for a night feed??!?! I'm glad you told her to sod off myjob! It is ok for babies to sleep as much as they want at night as long as they are not too small or prem, putting on weight, weeing plenty and pooing regularly. How prem and what size was your ds jetjets?

MW woke us up in hosp 4hrs after last feed coz dd was very sleepy/mucousy after em c-section and would sleep all day and all night if left! But when we were at home (after 4 days) I didn't bother and just tried to feed as much as poss during the day.

She soon started waking at 2am 4am 6am! I think newborns know when mummy is knackered and could do with a few hours sleep! shame they forget this when they get a bit older!

My DS wasn't prem but was very sleepy and I used to set my alarm to feed him at 3 am for the first week or two, then after one night of him refusing to wake up - he was SUCH a sleepy baby - I thought I'd see what happened if I left him. He slept through the first night, then woke at around 4 am for the next few weeks, then 5 am, and then slept through from about 3 1/2 months.

If you're feeding 3 hourly through the day - 7 am - 10 pm, then you're fitting 6 feeds in a day - he might surprise you and start waking in the night on his own accord, as my DS did. But if he's getting 6 feeds in 24 hrs, he won't starve

i was told to wake my prem baby up until she reached her due date, after that she woke up herself for a couple of months. she was 3lb2 at birth (11 weeks early so big girl for gestation) and she was just over 5lb when she left hospital at almost 10 weeks.
