Cows milk

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could please give me a bit of advice/experiences
My dd is now 15 months old, she has always been small, and I have always worried about her milk/food consumption, she doesn't eat much only particular things will she fully eat, and meal times are a battle when it comes to trying new things/actually tasting the food
I kept her on formula milk until about 2 weeks ago when we moved over to full fat cows milk (this is because she had been ill with colds teeth etc so refusing all food) however when she started eating better again I changed the milk.

She still has 1 bottle 7oz before bed and usually wakes around 2am (I know this needs dropping and I am weening this down each night) and sometimes will have 1 bottle in the day.

Since moving her onto cows milk her poos have been like little hard balls, and she's been slightly whingy, this morning her poo was actually stuck and when I had to remove it it was literally rock hard.

Did anyone have anything similar when changing to cows milk? Is she just not reacting well to it/ does she just need to adjust to it? Or is she having to much of it?

Sorry for the long post! Thank you for any tips x

How much milk does she have then in 24 hours with the bedtime bottle, the one in the night and the one in the day?

Having poo this hard is unusual. Does she have any other symptoms like mucus in her poo or a bloated tum?

Some high water foods should help. Will she eat any of the following? Cauliflower, melon, jelly, brocolli, soup, cucumber? A couple of dried figs to chew on might help the poo situation too Smile

When you say she’s small, have you had her weighed and measured recently? Is she following her centiles?

Thank you for reading and replying!!

Probably between 15-18oz in total (one 7oz every night, if she has one in the day it's usually about the same maybe a bit less and then the night time one usually about 5oz trying to reduce this down oz by oz)

No other symptoms, her tummy feels soft to me... thank you I'll give her a try with those foods, she's just very fussy, sometimes she'll inhale things and then others refuses to even taste.. she does drink plenty of water from her cup though that's one thing we've never struggled with

I took her to be weighed a couple of weeks ago, Her weight is fine so hv not worried at all... the reason I ended up taking her was because nursery also mention how small she was etc

Do the nursery mean short or skinny? Is she tracking her centiles for both?

Between 1 and 2 she only needs 10 floz a day, so if she’s having more, it is going to affect her appetite. I’d still give her the bedtime bottle and the the one in the night, while you’re reducing it but I’d drop the one in the day for now. If she’s desperate for it, give her a couple of floz in a cup with a snack.

Children do inhale food sone days and eat like a bird on others though, that’s just what they do. I’d try to keep a food diary over a week, itvmight help you see that over the she does eat enough. Are yiu giving her a good vitamin and mineral supplement too?
