my dd is 7 mth old and bottle fed... she is currently on 3 meals aday and has been for a while and she has 4 x 7-8 oz bottles at 7am, 11am, 3pm ,7pm then bed. my question is at the moment she is having her meals after her bottle... drinks 4 oz then food then 3 oz to finish off. i dont know how i should now be doing this should i be giving her the food at different times to the bottle or carry on as i am and how does it work dropping the milk?

Hi Lilsmum - not quite sure what to advise but this is my 6 mths old dd's routine.

on waking - 6-7ish - 8oz milk
8ish weetabix with 4 oz milk.
10am snack e.g petit filous, banana. water
12 - lunch and pud water
2pm - 8oz milk
4pm tea and pud water
6.30pm 8oz

I guess you can continue to keep having her bottles with her meals - I know thats how they advise you to do it when you start weaning. The reason I dont is that dd would never manage all her milk or solids that way so I feed her every two hours - either milk or solids - and she taakes the lot.

With regards to dropping her milk... dd was on 4 x 7oz bottles until a few weeks ago. She weighed 20 lbs and was having 32 oz a day with the milk on her bfast too.My h/v said it would be ok to drop the 10am feed and replace with a small snack as she only needs about 28 oz a day - this includes milky puds such as yoghurts. So now she has 28oz in milk plus milk puds too so I know shes meeting her quota.I just cut it out totally and gave her a yoghurt instead and she was fine.
