Hi,

I'm pretty sure I've got it sussed but worth a quick ask...

First time expressing today using a hakkaa so I will express the boob I'm not feeding from when DD next feeds...

Plan is -

Sterilise the hakka
Pour milk immediately into breast milk storage bag
Let cool
Freeze

If it's only a small amount can I keep tipping cooled milk into the frozen bag to ensure I have a few bags full rather than lots of bags with a few ml in?!

Thanks :)

Freeze it in about 2-3oz amounts, don't fill the bags, you will end up throwing out milk when baby doesn't drink all of it if you freeze in large amounts. You can add milk together once it's the same temp, don't add warm milk to cooled milk.

Always better to freezer in smaller quantities so that you don't waste it. The Haakaa can get out quite a bit, doubt it'll be just a few ml if your baby is actively feeding on the other side.

Whoever created the phrase don't cry over spilt milk has obviously never spilt their second batch of expressed milk...

Thanks for the reassurance and tips :)
