PERIODS AFTER BFing............................

DD2 is 10 mths old, and even thought I am still BFing and on the mini pill, I had a period last month.
If I was regular I should have had another one about 2 weeks ago.
So.........Can they just go away again???
Could they just be really irregular as am still bfing??
Should I buy a pg test?????

I am bf'ing and on the minipill and have had one v long period (just finished).

I don't how good you are at taking pill at right time but I found I would have a short bleed if I was a bit late taking the pill (I am rubbish at taking pill same time every day).

I still do pg tests every now and so maybe you should - but don't panic. unlikely you are pg if taking pill according to instructions iykwim - hth

Am pretty good at taking it, but someone said you only have a 3 hr window with the mini pill.
I only got a bit worried when I felt really ill this week, What would be 6 weeks

But then again it could just be the Kebab I ate the day before

So thought I'd check the Oracle that is MN and see what you all thought.

so glad to read am not the only one. Ds is 8mnths and still bf, have had first period last month and should have had my second last week but nothing. Had also thought pregnancy test was an option.

On asking a friend yesterday,whose dh is a doctor she said that if you were still b/f at least 6 times a week it was normal to have this happen.

Am seeing gp next week so will double checking this info

My GP seemed quite surprised that I had had one. She said it's quite unusual if bfing AND on the pill. But then DD2 is a pig and totally weaned on food, so did cut down quite a lot. I have upped her milk feeds again, and thought they might have gone again.
Might just get a poundland test and see

My periods were irregular every 4-6 weeks when I was bfing.

Wait another week and do a test if necessary.

I actually felt better yesterday and normal today, so am leaning towards the Kebab theory.

I think you will be unlikely to be pg - but take the test if you want to eliminate the poss.

i hate taking the minipill it makes me feel bloated and rubbish - or is that the excess choc and lack of sleep!?? DD is 14m and still bf's loads, esp right now as she has a cold and is off other foods.

DD2 still waking in the night for milk, or something. Tends to be ignored if it's before 4-5am. Sometimes goes back off sometimes screams at me.

Might do one just to put my mind at rest.
