Anyone know the best route to becoming a breastfeeding counsellor?

Hi, I am really interested in becoming a breastfeeding counsellor/lactation consultant. I breastfed all of my babies and really appreciated the support I received along the way. Does anyone know the best route into this? I know you can go through NCT or La Leche League, I was hoping there may be someone with a personal experience of the training who can advise?

I’ve not done it OP but just wanted to say that the ABM might be another route.

Check for jobs in your area beforehand. I was unable to access a bf consultant because they’ve all been sacked due to NHS budget cuts. In the end I got advice from one of the sacked ladies who was operating on a voluntary basis while working as a shop assistant.

I think the OP was interested in becoming a Breastfeeding Counsellor. I’m not sure these have ever been employed by the NMS Sputnik. I could be wrong though
