DD always been difficult to get to take her milk but since a bad ear infection she has refused her milk and will barely take an ounce. so far today since 5 am she has had 2 ounces.
She loves water and will always drink loads of water so no risk of dehydration.
I'm trying to get as much cheese and yoghurts and hidden formula into her but dd isn't a big spoon feeder either and I'm now getting really worried she's just not getting anough. Has anyone else had this problem?
Any support would be greatly received. Is Dd really able to survive on 3 spoon feeds and water when she's only 9 months old?

So she'll take water from a cup but not milk from a bottle?
I wonder if the sucking action hurts her ears (or did hurt her ears during the infection and she's now scared to try in case it hurts again)

Have you offered milk in a cup?
How is she with finger food if she's fed up of spoons?

she's had to have her milk from a cup since she was 6 noths old as she went off bottles back then and just wouldn't suck at all! Normally she'll take at least some milk from her cup so that over 24 hours she'll have maybe 18 ounces.
She'll happily take water from her cup....always has ever since I introduced water!
DD will take a reasonable spoon feed when she's in the mood....about the equivalent of half a jar of stage 2.
Don't think its the sucking action that bothers her as she happily sucks from her cup to take the water.....I think she really really just doesn't like milk and since she was ill she's had more water than usual as she had a high temp and now she just wants water so will refuse milk hoping to get water!!!

My dd did this with teething. Teething gel before every feed and trainer handles on the bottle helped us (it distracted her somehow!).

I think milk from a cup would be fine if she takes that?

sorry, cross posts.

When I had to try and get the nasty tasting soy formula down dd someone suggested soaking a vanilla pod. I'm not sure personally whether its a good idea, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Have you tried changing formula, do they taste different?

will she drink from a straw yet - my DS went through a phase of this and for some bizarre reason was prepared to drink milk through a straw - I think using a straw bypasses most of their taste buds and is a novelty. She may be a bit young though.
