Hi everyone! I’m due to fly to Australia at the end of the month, my youngest will be 10 weeks old as is exclusively breastfed. We’re flying with Emirates which means we’ll be stopping in Abu Dhabi airport. I’m confident I’ll be okay breastfeeding on the plane as they’re a very child friendly airline but am a bit concerned about feeding in the airport. Has anyone had any experiences there or know what the general view on breastfeeding in public is?

Wonder if something like these might help? That way no one will be able to see what’s happening underneath.

There’s loads on EBay- breastfeeding covers.

Hope this helps. 🤗

Haven't been to Abu Dhabi but have been to Dubai. My SIL lives there and breastfed at shopping centres etc. She was discrete (used a cover up) but you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks ladies, I was planning on taking a cover up / poncho type thing, I tend to use one unless I’m at home anyway to be honest. My LO just isn’t that discreet, no matter how hard I try to be! I’ll just have to find a quiet corner / toilet (?!) to feed in if I have to, we’re only there for a couple of hours

I have lived in Abu Dhabi for the last 11 years and they are completely fine with breast feeding. Personally, I feel like they're even more accepting of it than they are in the UK. You'll be totally fine!

Abu Dhabi is very welcoming for BF mums. I live in the ME and BF frequently out and about with my 3 month old, I don’t use a cover.

Oh wonderful, that’s really put my mind at ease, thankyou!

Don't go waving your boob about, but no need to go sit in the toilet.
Although, if you do want somewhere to hide, go to the ladies prayer room.
