Bottle feeding question?

Hi everyone! This is my first post. I’m a first time mum and moving onto combi feeding. I’m a bit confused about bottle feeding and the need to dry the bottles. I emailed Tommee Tippee to ask how long they stay sterile for if you open the steriliser (the instructions say 24 hours if it’s unopened, which let’s be honest never happens!)

They responded saying to put the bottles back together as soon as they have been sterilised and they will be ok for 24 hours. But surely they need to dry as they are full of condensation? Wouldn’t this be bad sitting in the bottle for a day?

I’ve looked at the bottle drying racks but then I figured being in the open air drying after the steriliser also wouldn’t keep them sterile

Thanks in advance Smile

The condensation doesn't matter as it will be sterile. Just assemble and use as needed

We used the TT steriliser too. If you open the lid straight after it’s finished the bottles dry pretty much right away so we used the wee white forceps that come with it to lift out the teats and put on the lids. Then we just handled the bottles and screwed on the lids as the teats were covered.

We use Milton tablets and Milton bucket - cold water sterilisation. Fill bucket with cold water and add your tablet, put in bottles and after 15 mins they're ready to use. You can pull out fresh bottles whenever you need them. Change the water and tablet every 24 hrs - you can whack dummy's etc in throughout the day too.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I’ll open the steriliser straight away and put them back together then!

I’ve had two babies and a TT steriliser. Once sterilised, I put the bottles together then put them in a cupboard til they needed using. I’d flick out any excess water before filling the bottle up. Both kids still alive and never been ill.
