Headaches during breastfeeding

Does anyone know why this happens? I have heard oxytocin mentioned... can anyone expand?

This has just started to happen at 8 weeks, and seems to be getting worse, the headache is persisting after baby is off the breast.

Very tired and could do without this!

you could be dehydrated, i'd drink lots of water and see if it improves.

Also, dehydration casues headaches - are you drinking plenty of water?

Oh poor you - I had this - it was worse with DS3 and not so bad with DS4. Are they like a really sicky migraine?

IMO it's a combination of tiredness, hormonal changes, dehydration and dips in blood sugar.

I took Ibruprofen when really bad. Drink plenty, eat little and often, the warm weather doesn't help.

Is it ok to take ibuprofen when breastfeeding?
Perhaps it'll help ds with his tummyaches....

I'm pretty sure it's ok as I think it's recommended for mastitis too but do check with your HV or GP first.

I was going to suggest dehydration too. Especially now the weather is hotting up, I'm drinking pints (and not beer sadly! ).

And yes, ibuprofen is ok. x
