11.5 mo dropped over half his feeds this week - crippled by period pains

So my 11.5mo has dropped from 7 feeds over 24 hours down to just 3 (morn, bed and one night) since the weekend and I am now being crippled by period pains....this is normal right? I have only had one mini period in 15 years (we conceived quickly after being on the pill)...

I am also concerned DS will be getting enough calcium. He wont eat cheese although has milk in porridge and a fromage frais yoghurt and some cream or creme fraiche every day. I've tried getting him to drink milk but he wont.

Hmm

Sorry about the period pain. It's so variable I am sorry that Ican't offer any advice there.

As for calcium if you look at it he is still getting three drinks of milk daily plus milk products in his solid food.

There is also calcium in green veg like peas and broccoli as he starts to widen his diet. So personally I wouldn't be worrying about calcium intake right now.

Hope you feel better soon. X

Ah thats great thanks. I guess I wasnt expecting it to start until he stopped feeding altogether. I know everyone's experiences with the pain is different. I was on the pill because of the pain. I was hoping to not have to go back on it but we will see.

Really pleased DSs intake should be OK. I'm amazed how quickly he's weaning off by his own accord!!

I started back within a few weeks despite breastfeeding.

As time goes on he will probably take to cheese in some form. Remember tinned fish with the softened bones mashed well in contains calcium as well.

Good luck!
