Hello there before i start i am ringing the GP in the morning but i am just wanting to find out info from other parents. My LG is just over 5 weeks old her dad & his brother & sister are allergic to dairy now we have always been aware there is a chance my LG could get it (even more so since its very common in babies) her signs we noticed a few weeks ago rash on face, unsettled, green poo, muscus in poo when i mentioned to the HV she had said it was all normal for a nb but this past week she has a rash on her shoulders which is now on her face and chest, farts ALOT, seems to be in discomfort/pain when farting and pooing, her tummy has been making LOADS of noises and she has been unsettled (cant seem to sleep during the day) spits up lots i know this can be normal but the HV said if it was loads to speak to a GP she also hiccups all the time (i know it can be normal) also my DH mentioned he thinks her tummy is swollen slightly. Do these sound like signs of CMPA? Thanks and sorry for very long post

Yes it could be.

Yes it sounds like classic CMPA to me OP. If you are Bfing, I’d read this from Kellymom and if you are ffing, you need to get a formula suitable for CMPA sufferers. Is there a walk-in Centre that you could take her to?

@JiltedJohnsJulie i took her to the GP this morning and the doctor agreed so she gave us formula to try i was bfing but i have decided end my bf journey and im very proud of myself for lasting as long as it hasn't been a easy ride and we had a few problems

So glad that the GP has taken it seriously and yiu should be proud of yourself. When you go back to the GP, I’d ask for a referral to a Paediatric Dietician too Smile

What do they do?

You’ll probably need the Dietician for when you start Weaning but it might take a while to get an appointment. The allergies section on MN is pretty useful too.

The NICE guidelines are here and should give you a good idea of what to expect from the GP. The info from Allergy UK is good too and have a Helpline if you want to talk it through with someone Smile
