Is it normal for 6 week old on formula to feed as frequent as 2 hours through the day?

I bf my dd but this time round I haven’t been able to do so with my son, and it’s all a bit different. With dd, she bf a lot until I stopped at 3 months but with DS I’m not really sure what to expect, at first he fed every 3/4 hours around the clock but now it’s a bit more erratic, can be 2 hourly through the day and 4/5 hourly at night. As I write this it sounds ok now, Grin
Just looking for reassurance I guess

I don't know the answer but am in a similar boat. BF last time so some bottle feeding this young is new to me. When my eldest switched to formula he was 6 months and in a really set feeding pattern same time everyday. DS2 gets hungry different times through the day taking different amounts

Yes, DD fed pretty much every 2 hours day and night on formula till she was 10 weeks old.

It varies from baby to baby normally when they decrease the time between feeds it's due to a growth spurt.

Could be growth spurt or reflux or just for comfort 😊

My son really needed 7 feeds every 24 hours instead of 6 at the beginning. Once I had got my head around that and accepted it that was fine. I kept thinking this wasn’t right and I must only feed every four hours!Like I said once I just relaxed and said fine have an extra feed we were both much happier. I also moved him on to the hungry baby milk as well. Good luck!
