My friend just kept offering a botlle of expressed milk every day until her dd accepted it ok. Some days she would take it ok and some days she would scream and scream but they got there after about 3 weeks.
I saw a flyer in mothercare the other day for a new teat which has 2 separate parts to make it more like breastfeeding www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B000MMC23O/sr=1-18/qid=1180816571/ref=sr_1_18/202-8247064-5744628?ie=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=44555031&mcb=core

I tried that one but it didn't work, all that worked for us was to keep trying and trying! You do get to the stage where you think anything is worth a go (and it might be).

Good luck

Lis, at this age most mothers can nip out for a couple of hours (or more) to the cinema or to get their hair done, as long as the baby has been fed before you go. The carer who has the baby has to be prepared to give the baby lots of attention and play, of course - but breastfeeding isn't a prison

There's no need to struggle with getting the baby to take a bottle.

I'm having the same worry and have tried loads of bottles/teats. I keep telling myself that he WILL take a bottle when it's essential but you can't help but worry.

oh i do enjoy breast feeding but i'd like a back p encase i had to go back to work early. I can breast feed out and some people don't know i'm doing it and i find it easier to do that bottle feed but it's nice to have some space and to let OH take over once in a while!!! i've brought some from boots and the teat thats knida flat cos he sometimes sucks a dummy thats that shape. thanks for all your help though guys, it can be stressful, and funny how no one seems to tell you that!!!
