Hi - am new to this site. Have a 2 week old girl and have been giving her SMA Gold. She's not winding v. well and is a bit constipated. Have bought some Hipp Organic to try her on, but wondered if anyone had used this b4? Any good/bad experiences? Also heard that Aptimel (sp?) is better? All advice VERY welcome!

SMA has a bad reputation for wind/constipation.
Try Aptamil.

I used Hipp Organic as a top up for my DD when she was little, mainly brestfed but topped up with Hipp and no probs

I've used Hipp Organic for all 3 of mine from about 6 months and have never had any problems with wind, constipation etc.

Hi
I gave both DS and DD1 SMA gold with no major problems. However with DD2 caused nightmares for us so we changed to aptamil and she loves it and has been a much happier baby for the change.

Aptamil claims it's better for digestion, and certainly my baby girl has had runnier, lighter-coloured, more frequent poos since she's been on it. She farts like a trooper though.

She doesn't wind any better but her digestion does seem to have settled down a bit. When she was on SMA I thought she might be a bit colicky, she would often seem to be in some kind of abdominal discomfort in the evening. She doesn't get this nearly so much now (although she is over 6 weeks, so perhaps she's just growing out of it)
