Boobs feel bruised

My baby is 11 weeks old and ebf. For the last week or so my boobs have felt incredibly tender - particularly the right one and it's just on the side. There's no lumps/heat/redness or anything. No pain on feeding. Baby is feeding around every 2-3 hours during the day and usually 8-10 hours overnight. I do wake in the morning pretty full and engorged and occasionally leaking. Is this pain just a normal part of bf? Any idea what it could be? Or should i speak to my health visitor?

Do you feel ok in yourself? No cold or flu symptoms? If you do, just watch out for mastitis. No harm in popping to see GP just to be checked over.

My boob started feeling bruised, it then rapidly turned into mastitis. Could be a blocked duct inside the boob somewhere. Maybe try regular feeds, hot flannel/shower and breast massage to see if that helps. Otherwise pop to see GP or breast feeding adviser as it isn’t usual to feel bruised.

Probably a blocked duct, even if there's no lumps or visible sign. Massage it as baby feeds, try dangle feeding from that side, hot flannel etc. It might take a day or two to ease, but keep an eye on it in case it develops into mastitis.

(Dangle feeding btw is where you lie over baby and let the breast dangle down to their mouth. Bit awkward position-wise but feels amaaaaazing to ease a blocked duct! The change of angle stimulates milk from a different part of the breast, or something - changes of position generally will help)
