Hi looking for thoughts on how to help my sicky 5month old dd. She is EBF but is still really sicky all the time. Always sick after feed and quite a lot during the day.

She’s very gassy aswell we constantly have to burp her or she becomes unsettled, but recently she’s getting unsettled a lot at the breast she will feed for a few seconds the start screaming and stiffing up. So will burp her which she normally always does or is sick

Is this normal? I’m finding it quite hard now as she’s hardly taking anything during the day. Will take it fine during the night?

Sorry for the long post any advice would be appreciated

Has anyone discussed the possibility of a Dairy allergy with you OP?

Is she growing and following her centile?if she is then you might want to investigate and see if you can reduce the sickness ( you may or may not be successful in this mission) but at least you don't need to worry as such. If she is failing to thrive then arrange to see your GP .

That’s the thing she’s putting weight on fine infact she’s put on 2lb this month moving her up to the 75th centile. So she’s obviously getting more than enough. I don’t know how though as she’s so sicky and hardly has any feeds during the day.

I’ve mentioned it to the hv but she says she’s healthy cause she’s putting on weight.

So I’m guessing she could just be a sicky baby?

Was the article of anybody use Dusty?

Yes it was thank you ! Definitely something to think about. I always thought if there was an intolerance then the baby would not put weight on?

Not always. It’s the same with tongue tie. Tonguectiecwas dismissed with my DD because he was putting on weight but he definitely had it.

Sounds more like silent reflux to me- have a read up OP and see what you think. Remember SR is often caused by an intolerance too.

Google the Australian hold. It keeps them completely upright and I you d mine got rid of their wind whilst feeding. Made so much difference to us. Good for the back too x
