Has anyone tried Minbie bottles?

These bottles. I keep seeing them advertised on Facebook and I'm interested in them because I'm struggling to breastfeed my 11wk old. He doesn't open his mouth wide enough to feed (but only on the right side Confused ) and it's causing me great pain. Different positions don't help either. I was thinking I could BF him from the left side, and express and bottle feed from the right side and these Minbie bottles claim to be the closest to breastfeeding that a bottle can be.

Are they as good as they claim or are there better ones out there?

I haven't tried them, but I wouldn't get too caught up in the whole 'close to breastfeeding' bottle marketing.

I would try a simple, easy to buy bottle, if it doesn't suit, try a different one :) I'm sure at 11 weeks a few feeds from a bottle won't harm his ability to breastfeed as normal, whatever bottle you choose. I've combination fed with Avent, tommee tippee and mam bottles from a few weeks old with both my kids.

Has your baby a tongue-tie?

Pappybear · 30/07/2018 23:07

Yes I did. On bottle refusing ds at 6 months. It was the only one he took after trying loads of different types

He does have a slight tongue tie, the HV referred us to have it snipped, we travelled over an hour to the appointment for the doctor to take a look, said it was too small to do there and then and he'd have to be put under, but it's that small it wouldn't make a difference and as he's putting weight on okay, he refused to do it.
