Defrosted ebm question

My dh defrosted some ebm in a bowl of hot water whilst I was shopping. Baby then fell asleep. He put it back in the fridge. It was still cold in middle but tepid on outside. I wanted to know if its ok to use?

I looked on la leche site and it said "If milk has been frozen and thawed, it can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours for later use." But not sure if that is wholly within a fridge rather than in hot water. On the BFN site is says you have to use it immediately.

Am so pissed off if I have to chuck it but my instinct says i should

i'd be inclined to chuck it for peace of mind.
