Anyone else having a sh*tty night?

Literally. DS is 4days old and the last two nights have been bliss- had 2-3hours between each night feed then went straight back in his moses basket to sleep soundly for another few hours. I stupidly thought wow this is easier this time! Wrong. Tonight he has refused to go back into his basket AT ALL. Cried a lot and has been constantly rooting... bloody exhausted. And he’s just woken me up by shooting poo out of his nappy at speeds only known to newborns and a fireman’s hose. Sigh.

Yep. 9 months and he's never slept longer than 2 hours in a row

Four days old and fed up already Confused

heyheymymy · 29/07/2018 03:18

@Lanclain hold your horses I said I was exhausted not fed up! Pretty sure every mum ever is exhausted after birth? @Ohb0llocks yes I remember it fondly with last DC! Psyching myself up to go again! All worth it even if my eyes won’t stay open for long.. Brew

@Lanclain excellent comment, very helpful for a sleep deprived, probably very hormonal woman. Bravo.

That’s a nice reply!

Nights are exhausting with a newborn. You have my sympathy and you know it will get better. Can you let baby sleep on you and forget the basket for tonight?

I am still awake as I drank too many diet cokes and now my mind is racing and my stomach churning. I’m away without the kids and was so looking forward to all the sleep I was going to get.... 😂

heyheymymy · 29/07/2018 03:25

My post was actually light hearted.. especially as the “shitty night” referred to him literally pooing all down me Grin thanks for your response though bollocks, just trying to connect during these tougher hours Flowers

I feel you! I'm just on first night home and he's been alternating between (very sore) boobs for 4 hours now! I would tell you it gets better but my 2.5 year old still wakes at least twice a night...

Toadsrevisited · 29/07/2018 04:07

Four month sleep regression here plus widdled out the side of his nappy. Bugger. And he has been doing 5-7 hrs!!! Every 2.5hrs on the dot all week. Good luck everyone...

tinymeteor · 29/07/2018 04:11

lanclain fucks sake

OP I feel you. Middle of a sleep regression here. Waking every 45 mins. I can't even fall back to as my body has realised there's no point when you're about to be woken again. Kill me now

KTD27 · 29/07/2018 04:17

Yep. 2 week old Feeding every two hours here and after last stint couldn’t be put down in between so lots of shushing patting and ultimately sleeping on me. Shattered!
