Combination feeding twins

Hi all,
I BF'd my two older DDs and am now expecting twins - I will have help at home and I also do want to be able to spend time with my older girls when on maternity leave e.g. do school runs etc, so am planning to combination feed them.

I am confused as to what works best, however - should I give some formula from birth or BF'd exclusively for the first month or so to establish my supply? Should they have a bottle at the same time each day e.g. 7pm, or should this be varied? Or should I alternate twins with each one getting a breastfeed and each one getting a bottle feed at each feeding time?

I have no idea and know how fragile breastfeeding can be sometimes so want to make sure I have a good plan in my head before they arrive! Any tips would be really really helpful Flowers

I haventchad twins but when I was having my DC2 I was worried about the school run. They were fine though and soon got used to having a nap at that time while we were on the move.

There’s some information on BFing twins here.

As for combi feeding, I think the current advice is to exclusively BF for the first 3 to 4 weeks but you are probably best talking through your plans with a BFC who will have all of the current information Smile
