Hives while BFing?

Laurney · 27/05/2007 16:29

Have been bfing DD for 8 weeks now, and over past 3 days have been breaking out in hives after I feed her. Never had hives before, haven't changed detergents, eating habits, etc., so thinking it must be BF-related. Anyone else have this?

latex nipple shields or dummy?

Laurney · 27/05/2007 16:42

No nipple shields, but she does have a dummy. But must confess we caved in and gave her the dummy when she was about a week old (she was literally sucking as the dr. pulled her out, and hasn't stopped since) so it's not new. Am SO itchy!

Oh, and when we try to take dummy away, she sucks her thumb!

wonder if you're allergic to what the dummy is made of? Most dummies are silicone but some could be latex? Do you have any allergies?
