Cow and Gate stg1 6 or 12 months?

With DS1 (5) he was on stage 1 till 12 months, I was told by HV that follow on milks are just money makers and not needed if weaning well. The box also said up to 12 months.

Now I am feeding DS2 and the new packaging only states up to 6 months. I will speak to a HV next week but does anyone know if they have changed the guidelines and I do need to move onto stage 2 at 6 months? TIA

That's a marketing gimmick, first milk is fine until 12 months.
