We had decided that we were going to breast feed until she was 3....so she is 3 . I breast feed only once a day, in bed when she first wakes up. The doctor said they no longer give the shot to help dry you out shock...that I was on my own. She suggested to beging every other day...then every 2 days & so on. I need suggestions please!

I would think that feeding every other day, then every third day, would be confusing and possibly distressing for your dd; she won't understand why she can have a feed some days but not on others. Cold turkey would be kinder, if you feel that you want to give up.

If you're only feeding once a day, you may find you don't have any difficulty stopping feeding anyway - I fed for two years, and when dd decided enough was enough we just stopped with no problems at all.

Didn't see the other thread or I would probably have posted on that instead.

No, it didn't hurt at all to stop. I think by the time you've been feeding for so long your breasts are much more efficient at supplying on demand that you don't get the over-production and engorgement that you do at the beginning. The chances of you becoming engorged or getting mastitis are very slim so far down the line, I would have thought.

I had stopped when she was ill last year, when we were doing the same thing....and it hurt!!
