Problems with dream feeding expressed milk

Hi there, I wondered if anyone could advise me what to do!
7 week old DS has been having a bottle of EBM given by DH as the late night feed most evenings for the last 3 weeks. However lately he's been unwilling to take much milk at all (howls in between mouthfuls), and then wakes again for extra food an hour or so later (destroying the whole point of all the expressing faff!)
How much milk would you expect him to need to substitute for a whole feed at this stage? (He usually takes 70ml or so, but has been occasionally known to take 120ml)
Also, what kind of flow-rate teat should we be using - we've not changed from the single hole one, should we be moving on to 2 holes now? Might a whole different teat work better perhaps (we're using Avent ones)
Could really do with getting this to work, as the number of night feeds seems to be increasing not decreasing, and I'm running out of energy...
Thank you!

Probably he would just rather be being breastfed! Try a million different teats, could make a difference, I'm not an expert but would probably think that at 7 weeks and mostly bf you're better sticking to the slow rate teats. But faster ones worth a try - just go carefully in case he gets a mouthful of milk and gags. Teat that eventually worked for us was standard neck size Nuby, they have little dimples on that seemed to make it easier for ds to keep the teat in his mouth. Wouldn't take wide neck sized teats at all, which surprised me as I thought they'd be more like having a breast in his mouth.

Think ds was taking around 100mls at this age, can't really remember . . . also night feeds may well increase around now for growth spurt, stick with it, it will get better honestly!

thanks, fearscape, I fear you're right. had another go last night and he did take nearly 100ml from a faster-flow teat, but got nasty wind, and then wanted about half an hour from me on top of the 100ml (so what was the point??!)
Anybody else have advice? Please!
