Breast to bottle feeding

Hi I have a 10 week old dd who is breast fed but who has also taken expressed milk from a bottle. However dd hasn't had a bottle for 3 weeks and now will not take a feed from one. I am trying to reintroduce a bottle at one feed a day however dd is not interested. Any ideas that can help me get dd to feed from a bottle again?

sometimes around that age they start to just refuse a bottle. hope you get better ideas from someone else.

My honest opinion is, can you blame her? She has good taste. If I had my time again I'd go for the real thing over latex any time.

More helpfully though, in another similar thread someone said it was a good idea for someone else to give the bottle as she's expecting milk from you.
You may have tried this already but I thought I'd pass it on to counteract my annoying first bit.

I have 15 week old dd and habing the same problems but with formula milk. She would take 1 bottle a day and then has just decided "no thankyou"!
Has your problem been solved? and if so what did you do?

Hi Bird1. I have managed to get my dd back feeding from a bottle. I used ebm and made up a bottle about 15 mins before a feed was due and let dd play with the teat. I breast fed her when she started to become upset. Same feed the next day I did the same thing and she started to chomp on the teat and the thrid day she started sucking on the bottle and has had a bottle each day since. Just took patience and perseverence. Let me know how you get on.

Hi Lilyannsmum38, thanks for your experience. Last night she took 4oz of formula, but it was a dream feed, so no nearer to solving the problem really. Am going try ebm tonight whilst she's awake, I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi Lilyannsmum38, Success!!! Dd now takes a bottle of formula. She doesn't like sitting in my arms though, but will take it lying down as if breastfeeding, or sat in a chair facing me. I'd heard of these ways, but never thought I'd end up doing this. She's happy so I'm happy.
