My breast milk smells different!

Milk everywhere after an enthusiastic letdown from one of my breasts

Normally I think it smells a bit like prosecco (which I’m obviously not drinking!) but today it smells just like coconut milk! It is a completely different smell to usual

I had a curry yesterday which may have contained coconut milk... is this a thing?!

Yes what you eat/drink can affect it.

Also baby's beeds so if it's gone from a light more acidic type to thicker sweeter be aware baby might be due a growth spurt... Or an upset tummy.

I had heard that about milk adjusting - silly question but how does my body know? Is it just through frequency of feeds?

Just googled it - really interesting!

You're right. Breast milk tastes like your diet. Cows milk too.

My dc love mint bc i was told to drink mint tea bc my stomach was upset in hospital.

Also why it's better to be careful of spicy foods or strong flavors at first. YOUR diet greatly effects baby's comfort.

Best wishes!Flowers
