I'm certain latch is as good as I can get yet he swallow air that is a bugger to get up. Then he gets upset and struggles after an hour of sleep, we might get wind up and then sometimes needs to feed again.

Even I can see that his tongue is ok whereas ds1 has a ptt.

He's rubbish at latching though; doesn't open his mouth wide enough.

The rare occasions wind comes up or he hasn't swallowed air he sleeps beautifully for a couple of hours. We are good with winding the other end Grin.

Any tips?! He's 8 days old so maybe normal? I feel my flow has settled well. I had to stifle a glare at the mws who once again proclaimed a bf baby never needs winding as ds broke that mould

I really don't want to end up with the reflux issue again :(

Infacol works for me. Brings their little bubbles together which makes it easier to bring up

Gasodex worked very well for me.

Uhhh my 10 week old daughter is the same. Never opens mouth wide enough. Was tongue tied and latch is now best I can get but still not perfect so she takes in quite a bit of air. Takes ages to wind but with a lot of persistence it does come up...she can’t lay on her back or sleep at all unless she’s been winded! I found gripe water works the best but she won’t always willingly take it. I also drink around 3 mugs of chamomile tea now as was out of ideas, told about this old trick and to be fair it has helped.
Other than that I have no tips but I’m glad I’m not the only one with this issue!

I had the very same thing with my now 10 week old. Mad how they’re both the only 2 bf babies with wind ever! Hmm

With winding the only thing that gets his up (with minimal up chuck) is something a lady told me on here. Sat on your lap (though also works held against you while peeking over your shoulder, chin resting on you) rock backwards and forwards x3, side to side x3 then round clockwise x3 and anti-clockwise x3. Often get big burps by the side to side! Infacol seemed to give him toilet troubles. He also had a tiny mouth with pursed spaghetti lips lol I flattened my nipple and Areola area like a sandwich and posted it in his mouth, nipple towards the roof of his mouth. No more trouble! Hope it helps and I’m not just rambling.
