4 month old dropped a feed (bottle)

So of his own accord, my DS has dropped his 10pm feed. He used to be on five 6oz bottles a day, but the 10pm sone would always be left, so over 24hrs he would have around 28oz. He’s now only having four 6oz bottles a day, meaning he’s having just 24oz.

Is this ok? He’s four and a half months old and putting on weight well. The tin says he would have four 7oz bottles, but he never gets passed 6oz.

Thank you Smile

How much does he weigh and have you started Weaning?

MrsHandles · 19/05/2018 20:11

As of Thursday, he was 14lb 13oz and following his centile line nicely. Not wanting to start weaning until 6 months ideally, but a HV said we could start at 5.

Really he should be having roughly 2,5 floz of formula in 24 hours for every pound in weight so that’s about 35 floz. Will he definitely not take another bottle? If not, I’d speak to your HV. Not sure why she said you coukd Sean at 6 months though, the NHS say 6 months and your HV should be supporting you to achieve this.
