CMPA - Cows Milk Protein Allergy

Hi Everyone

I know this has been spoken about numerous times before but I just wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and what they did.

So my DS was on given Aptamil Pepti one at 4 months but would not take it at all so I continued with the SMA. Last Sunday I tried him on the Pepti one again and he's drinking it now and for the first so many days he seemed fine. His eczema started to clear up and just seemed a lot more calmer and settled. Anyway, yesterday I could hear his tummy gurgling and he was very unsettled pretty much all day. This morning he's woke up with a rash on his face and body and you can still hear the milk churning in his stomach when he's had a feed. . . . I know there are other males of CMPA formula. Have others experienced better results with these? Thanks x

My son has been on neocate for ages and still is. Have you asked for it? It is notoriously difficult to get hold of tho as drs are very stingy about prescribing it. Think the cost is about 40quid a tin for them ...not that it comes out of their own pocket. He's just actually veen put back on it. They took him off aged 1 and all his symptoms cane back. Turns out he has cmpa soya egg gluten nuts and potentially others .

I don't know anything about Aptimal Pepti but I can say that in some formulas the milk protein is broken down more than in others. My DD was on Nutramigen and improved (from normal formula) but then had a mild reaction. She was moved onto Neocate and was a different baby overnight. So may be worth speaking to dr about another change. Good luck

My DC went on to Nutramigem for CMPA and it changed them almost overnight, when given with a combination of domperidone and ranitidine

Thank you so much for your reply's. I think I will ask them for the Neocate and see if that's better for him x
