So she's 9 weeks. Weighs 11lb. She literally goes 2 hours between feeds in 4-5oz. She was sleeping thro 9.30-6 am but has started to wake at 2 again.
She won't take any more liquid as in making it a 6oz.
Was wondering whether to Try hungry baby for the evenings as this this when she seems the most hungry and grumpy lol.
During day if out and about she may go 3 hours but unlikely
Or would I change fully to hungry baby. I have one tub left of c&g-1 left so want to use that up ideally.
Any experience.

Sounds normal to me, babies are supposed to feed little and often, they have small stomachs. Most babies will need a night feed until at least 6 months.

GinIsIn · 09/05/2018 20:54

No, it sounds like your baby is feeding absolutely normally for that age.

Tatiebee · 09/05/2018 20:54

That's a very normal feeding pattern for a young baby.

dementedpixie · 09/05/2018 20:55

No, i would say they are too young for it. It still has the same calories but is harder to digest and can cause constpation

eurochick · 09/05/2018 20:56

Mine fed every 2 hours until weaning And woke for a feed overnight until 19 months. I don't think that's unusual. Just feed her when she's hungry.

applesandpears56 · 09/05/2018 20:57

Absolutely not - she’s fine as she is

lostfrequencies · 09/05/2018 20:57

Just chiming in with everyone else... absolutely normal.

lightcola · 09/05/2018 21:09

Alwayssearching · 09/05/2018 22:06

Hungry baby milk doesn’t have more calories OP, it just takes longer for them to digest. This can actually interfere with her feeding pattern and make her wake more to “catch up” on feeds she’s missed during the day.

Roughly, she needs 2.5floz in 24 hours for every pound she weighs until she’s 6 months. So if she’s 11 pounds, she needs to be getting about 27.5floz a day.

How often is she feeding in the day? Is it about every 2 or 2.5 hours?

MonkeyBrainsInPickle · 10/05/2018 10:27

My DD fed every 2 to 2.5 hours at that age too. It’s completely normal.

She's having 8 *5oz bottles. =40oz
It was just a general wondering that's all as others wernt like this. Lol

Your baby is very young and was sleeping through - of course they will need to feed frequently during the day to get enough milk. That's a very normal pattern. Cherish the excellent sleep.

"Hungry baby" just has fillers in it that make it harder to digest. It's not something you really need to use, ever - it's trying to "cheat" the baby's digestive system, at the baby's expense, for the convenience of the parent.
