Breastfeeding help

I am a new mum, my daughter is now nearly 12 weeks old and I have been exclusively breastfeeding. It was difficult in the beginning but then She was feeding fine. For the last few weeks she hasn’t been feeding properly. She latches in for a minute or so then comes off screaming and won’t go back on the boob. I have tried everything to positions to winding etc and I’m close to giving up even though I really don’t want to.
I have had to give her the odd bottle because she just isn’t feeding. I feel like I can’t go out in public at all.
I was wondering if I could ask for some help please?

Hi- all could be fine. It’s very normal for babies beyond newborn to take much less time at the breast. They’re really skilled at sucking and swallowing and of course by now your supply and let down are very established. If your little dd is thriving and growing as she should then the chances are she really does not need formula and you don’t need to be anxious. Trying to pressure her to have more time at the breast tends to make feeds stressful and it’s not worth it.

Prob best to speak to your hv and perhaps call any of the bf helplines. This is such a common scenario, and I hope you find reassurance Smile
