Bf with saggy boobs!

I have a 5 week old ds and his latch could be better. I'm trying to follow the whole nose to nipple thing to get a good gape but what if your nipples point down?! I'm struggling to find a visual to copy showing a woman with saggy boobs lol. They say baby should be tummy to tummy but surely that's assuming your nips point outwards? Help! He has a shallow latch a lot of the time (had tongue tie cut but don't think we have done well at relearning to latch) x

You might need a bit of rl help. However, I support the breast with one hand. Do be careful of uneven pressure causing blocked ducts.

Just hold him lower than you would if your boobs were perkier. I have big boobs that have also headed south and my last baby laid more on my lap on a cushion and was a perfect position to feed, I just supported my boob until she latched. If you sort of stroke your nipple over baby's nose till they open mouth (you might need to do this few times till they open wide enough and squeezing a bit of milk out will help) then get as much boob in as you can. If your baby's lips are flared out around your boob then that is good. If they are pinched then that will make you sore. It's really trial and error as to what works for you.

My nipples point slightly down and the rugby hold was good for us! But agree with PP real life advice would be best!

I had to hold a blood woth one hand or shove a called up muslin underneath it.

The lactation helpers didn't like my boob holding approach but it was the only way I could get my son to feed at first.

Yep, 'tummy to mummy' is aimed at women whose nipples point forwards rather than down. The real aim is for babies to be 'in line' - their neck shouldn't have to twist to access the nipple. Shame the phrase 'in line' isn't a catchy rhyme. So for you, baby will get a better latch lying on their back, rather than on their side.

Thanks everyone- getting RL help on Wednesday thankfully. Yes gaining weight well (1lb per week over past 3 weeks) and is a chunky 11lb at 5 weeks old so he must be getting something!

Ladies with large pendulous breasts can breastfeed seated upright with a pillow on their lap and the babe lying on the pillow.
Lying down on your side to breastfeed would be easy as well.

I didn’t like to mention the pillow that I (still) use to lay the baby on in case it wasn’t allowed, but it really helps!
I found lying down feeding took ages to get the hang of though, and made the breast empty unevenly (blocked ducts again).
