Aptamil reflux milk

Just wondering if anyone has used this milk and successfully managed to dissolve all lumps of formula powder. Mine always has lumps and I can't figure out how to do it any other way.
I normally use a perfect prep but I have tried it other ways and it's no better. Any ideas??

Try ringing the helpline number for Aptamil - I think it's on the pack but if not it's on the website for Aptamil. Hope you get some helpful info.

I used this for the first 4 months and had to switch over milks as my DS was being sick constantly. I didn’t have an issue with lumps in the powder when making up the bottle though

Thank you both. I've emailed aptaclub and will see what they say. Smile

We used Aptamil Reflux, you have to make it differently to 'normal' formula, putting the formula after the water rather before. Instructions on the box.

It's not the 'correct' way to make formula but when we used the perfect prep we did the water, including the cooler water, then put the formula in and shake straight away.

Ah - cbeebies thank you. I will try that on the next feed. Fingers crossed 🤞

Glad to hear it worked.

To reduce the thickness of the formula, we would also do 'half and half' with normal Aptamil as our son would be a bit constipated with just the reflux formula so we found a balance.

Hi @Cbeebiessavesmyafternoon
my LO has been on anti reflux Aptamil for 2 weeks, worked wonders for her reflux but she is now super constipated (to the extent that we had to "extract", get her on Lactulose and use infant pessaries...). How do you do "half and half"???
Thanks!!!

What we would do is, for example for a 6oz bottle, put three scoops of normal Aptamil in the bottle, make the bottle with the perfect prep then once all the water was in add three scoops of reflux Aptamil at the end. Then shake and leave for the 7 mins.

You could experiment with number of scoops of each formula to make a different thickness and obviously if you're making 5/7oz bottle you'll have to decide if you want more normal or reflux scoops.

We also started doing this as we found even using the fast flow teats our son would struggle sucking the thick mixture through them.
