Can I reuse my perfect prep machine?

I'm currently pregnant and due in October, I'm planning on giving breastfeeding another go, but ultimately if it doesn't work out and I have to FF can I reuse my perfect prep machine from last time?

Obviously I would get a brand new filter for it and do a few Milton runs through it. What do you think? Will it be ok to use?

It hasn't been used since around October 2017.

I've got one and I would defo reuse for future dc or hand it on to someone else to reuse. Like you say, new filter and run the cleaning cycle a few times. Maybe not put Milton through it. I don't like the idea of the baby eating traces of Milton in their milk!

@MsP0b tommee tippee recommend using a cold water sterilisation fluid in the prep machine now ever since the whole mould thing.

I don't see a problem with the Milton, as if you cold sterilise bottles etc it would be the same?

Milton cold water sterilisation solution would be fine - esp. if Tommee recommend it. I cold water sterilised with DD and used Milton. The instructions said bottles didn’t need to be rinsed before giving to your baby so DD had traces of Milton in her milk every feed for the year I sterilised. She’ll be 9 next month and so far shows no ill effects! Do use Milton though. As I recall, a few other brands DO recommend rinsing bottles before giving to your baby.

I know you're right about Milton! I'm Miltoning bottles and breast pump stuff at the moment too. I don't like the thought of the babies eating traces of Milton though but loads of babies must have eaten loads of Milton over the years!
