What to give 16 month old for breakfast ?

My 16 month old is good generally with food but very picky when it comes to breakfast. I tend to give her a yogurt and a banana for breakfast as I know that’s what she will eat but I want to try her with other things. She won’t eat porridge, toast ,weetabix and I don’t want to give her cereal due to the sugar content. Any ideas?

Eggs? Scrambled or as an omelette. Or a bit of sausage with fruit.

I also used to do smoothies for mine at that age with spinach, banana and then some fat like avocado or peanut butter. I put it in a plastic cup with a straw and help her to hold it so she didn’t spill it.

Muffins are also good (obviously make them yourself in a batch, not the sugary ones you’d buy somewhere). I also used to make savoury ones with veg and cheese.

Things like sandwiches are fine too or cheese on toast with a bit of fruit.

Cinnamon bagel with butter. Apple slices spread with smooth nut butter. Eggy bread. Sausage and beans. Toasted bagel with either cream cheese and cut grapes or smooth nut butter, banana and honey.

If she’s being a bit fussy over breakfast, are you giving it to her before a milk feed?

Almost forgot one of our family favourites, Blueberry Pancakes. Apparently they freeze well. Not that any of ours have ever managed to survive along enough to make it to the freezer...Smile
