Keeping Baby Settled

My baby is 17 weeks old, for the past few weeks she has been increasingly unsettled during feeds. She is exclusively breastfed. She will always try to sit up and wriggle away, I've tried different feeding positions, but it hasn't been working. She is going longer between feeds, the older that she gets, so I know that she is hungry when I am trying to feed her.

I know that she may just be more interested in the world around her now, but seems to have a particular focus on my food. She is always trying to grab it out of my hands and off of my plate, etc.

I really don't want to start her on solids, as I don't think that she is fully ready. So, does anyone have any tips on keeping my baby more settled during feeds?

Thank you.

Yes it does sound as if she’s becoming more interested in the world around her. Have you tried breast compressions? A piece of Bfing Jewellery to fiddle with might help too Smile

Try a quieter/darker/less interesting place for bf when you can

as for food grabbing, they'd probably grab a glass of wine too, doesn't mean they should start on booze....

Yep very familiar.
I remember my older dd going whole days if we were out without wanting boob as life was too intetesting. We had to be home in the dark and quiet.
