Weaning a 2 year old

DS turns 2 next month and I would like to wean him off breastfeeding.

So far my plan is order a book about stopping breastfeeding on amazon and read it to him everyday between now and his birthday.
The book has a picture of a big boy on a bike (the books all about changing and growing)...he's getting a scooter for his birthday.
Soo my plan is to sort of reienforce the message that on his birthday he'll be a big boy with a scooter, not a baby with 'booboo'
And finally maybe? stick some plasters on to emphasise that the boobs are 'all gone'/broken.

Would it work? Is it mean? How did everyone else wean their toddlers?

Sounds like an ok plan to me. How does he currently get to sleep?

There are some good tips here. You might also want to feed only in one place (and then never sit there for anything else).

Have a think too about how you are going to settle him without Bfing Smile

That sounds like a good plan. I started saying boobie milk was all fine with both my children. First night was quite upsetting but not hysteria! By night 3 both had stopped asking but cuddling to sleep was necessary for a few weeks. Good luck!
