How do I stop getting soaked when breastfeeding?

DS was born on Monday (and it's now Friday). My milk supply has come in and it is very good. When I express, I can easily get 100 ml for each boob.

The problem is that when I try to BF, my other boob leaks and soaks the clothes that I am wearing. I will be using better quality breast pads, but what else can I do to stop this from happening? Is there an easy way to collect the milk?

You need breast shells. They sit over your nipple inside the bra and collect the leaks.

The other thing you could get is the Haakaa pump - it's a silicone bottle that suctions onto your boob - and use that while you feed off the other side.

I had this with my two put pads in your bra and as soon as your child finishes put him on the other. You could express but you might not want to do it so soon usually around six weeks for that.

I bloody loved breast shells. I hated the waste of the leaked milk from the unused breast, and the shells collect it so you can feed it to baby later. They’re great.

My bra collects it during the day (doesn’t feel too wet and uncomfortable) and at night when I’m not wearing one I always make sure I have a muslin nearby and put it over the spare boob to catch the milk!

Bear in mind that you could cause oversupply and more milk than you need, and hence more leaking, by expressing so early. Do you need to express?

But yeah, lansinoh breast pads and wait for supply to settle

Even the lansinoh breast pads are getting soaked through. Sad

I'm expressing early due to issues with the latch. Having large inverted nipples isn't helping.

Have a good supply of clean muslins and take them everywhere you go. Tuck one inside your bra on the other side every feed.

Be thankful you have such a good supply. I was the same, always leaking from the other side. I slept on a towel and had stacks of muslins. I just didn't care in the end!

Should say, I made my own muslins by hemming squares of old cotton bedsheets. I found shop bought ones too rough.

Bamboo breast pads, washable ones you can get off amazon. I found shells so uncomfortable.
And try the HAAKAA breast pump. It uses suction and you can literally pop it on the side you're not feeding from, feed away and it's collected a good amount that would otherwise be wasted.
