I hope someone has some ideas for me please!

My dd is ebf, starting weaning her around 2 months ago but she is NOT having it! She’s so ready for it, shows all the signs and is willing to try things, but either can’t swallow/chew them or just doesn’t like them full stop.
Hv wasn’t much help, but I’ve been persistent with dd and keep (attempting!) giving her meals!
But it’s breakfast I’m struggling with most, I have tried all of the following more than several times: baby rice, flavoured baby rice, baby porridge, flavoured baby porridge, baby porridge with fruit purée, readybrek, readybrek with fruit purée, weetabix, scrambled egg...... nothing! She won’t eat ANY of them?!? And I have tried all of them with breaskmilk, formula and most recently cows milk!!!! Also tried different temperatures and consistencies.

What do I do??? Please help me! Thank you x

The other thing about breakfast is if she is having a bottle after waking up she will be stuffed and won't have any room for breakfast .. let her lead you when she wants to eat and try and reduce the milk a bit and increase the food very slowly if that's what she prefers .

The thing about them 'watching you eat' being a sign is nonsense, my DS watches me put makeup on and drive a car and drink wine, doesn't mean he is ready to do those things - babies find everything you do interesting!

Anyway, my older DS was terrible with weaning and didn't start eating meals at all until he was pretty much a year old. I tried everything you are doing but he just wasn't fussed. He's still a crap eater (he's 2.5) but at least he does eat! I think some of them just take their time. Don't sweat it and keep giving milk. Maybe if milk isn't available though (when you go back to work) she might eat more?

DD sounds much the same - almost 7 months and, whilst she isn't swallowing food, she's having a lot of fun trying to squash it, smear it and get it into her mouth. She is given the same as everyone else so is playing with everything from porridge, fruit and veg to spaghetti bolognese, curry and pancakes.

I haven't tried her with a cup yet as she's still happily breastfeeding.

Don't feel you have to rush - there's plenty of time for your baby to get used to eating!

I'd focus on the bottle issue if I were you.

Try heating the milk? Mine liked it much hotter than I would have thought - if you've ever had to pee in / on something you might know how hot wee is, I can only imagine that breast milk is the same temp!

My nearly 10 month DD still only eats a few mouthfuls. She is ebf, hates purees and all the sloppy baby foods.
She likes fruit bread cut into soldiers for breakfast and has that with some fruit pretty much every day.
The important thing, as lots of others have said, is that she's tasting foods.
I don't think DD really started swallowing until the 7.5month point. Until then she would chew the food and then spit back out. They have to learn how to swallow, which takes time.

I love the idea of cereal as finger food and milk in a cup. I'm going to try that tomorrow!
